We would like to thank all those people who have visited and supported Blenheim Gallery and Garden during 2017.  The year is closing and we would like to express our gratitude for what has been a marvellous year in many ways.

The garden has received great notice throughout the year and an article in The Australian Weekend magazine took Blenheim’s awareness beyond Tasmanian shores. The temperate season and heat burst at the right time for the roses and the September daffodils  fell on queue for our open days.

Renaissance Tours visiting the garden and eight other garden clubs throughout the year has given us the privilege of showing the garden through all the seasons.

The Gallery has come into its own with exhibitions of painting, prints, sculpture and ceramics.  2018 will see the same mediums both inside the gallery and exterior sculptures as well in October 2018.  We plan to host a contemporary glass exhibition as well in October.

A marvellous first show in 2016 called Shapes in Spaces has been followed with Shapes in Spaces #2 at the end of this year. The exhibition will remain at the gallery until the 20th January for those wishing to see the fabulous works of Wendy Edwards, Rachel Bremner, Eve Howard, Dawn Oakford, Paul Snell,  Gene McLaren, Robert Ikin, Beatrice Magalotti.

Shapes in Spaces have relevance to all artists whether two or three dimensional and in the current show the work of Paul Snell courtesy of Colville Gallery is a superb ‘must have’ piece.

The brilliance of the artists involved in the show are exceptional and without singling out individual works I think the works show exactly that space and shapes can shine in confined areas.

During the holiday period if you are from interstate or a Tasmanian travelling during the holiday period the gallery will be closed during the Christmas New Year period.  We reopen Wednesday 10 January but do not hesitate to make an appointment if you are wishing to visit.

We will be posting our calendar of 2018 exhibitions on the website within the next week which will give everyone the opportunity to plan their visits throughout the year.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas from Blenheim Gallery and Garden
