Newfields Printmaking exhibition consists of a collective group of works by six artists associated of the West Tamar Art Group. The artists have exhibited jointly a number of times and have formed a co- operative on the Tamar in Tasmania.
Each artist participating in the exhibition in most cases have originated from other places. Through their love of printmaking and shared knowledge they have come together to develop works using printmaking from a technical base as the vibrant and progressive art form which results in individual lively artworks.
The prints are referenced to layers of observation and in most cases a depiction of the shifting perspective of moving through the image so the eye is drawn to points of focus close by and others in the distance.
Open Wed – Fri 1030 to 4:00pm. Saturdays 10-2
Also on Sunday 27 September at 2 pm there will be a meet with the artists at ‘The Artist Printmakers in Conversation’
