During October 2019 Blenheim Gallery held an exhibition of Vida Pearson’s linocuts which sat beautifully on the walls with Lucy Mceachern’s sculptures. Both artists being friends share a synergy and respect for their subject matter which moves through to endearing and striking works.
The hand coloured linocuts are stunning and through a life time of dedicated printmaking Vida’s images represent a strong statement of Australia’s bird life and fauna.
Yellow Tails in the Gum Leaves could not be a more Australian image with the powerful eye watching over the landscape and the viewer is a captivating element in a number of Vida’s images.
Through a life time of observing nature Vida’s works are truly masterful.
