The Blenheim Gallery Shapes in Spaces Sculpture Prize is a bi-annual exhibition and prize which commenced in 2019. The prize and exhibition draw works from throughout Australia, with practising sculptors registering for participation and the acquisitive prize.

This prestigious prize was been judged by Peter Watt, architect and art collector in 2019 and Ashleigh Whatling Senior Curator of Art and Design at QVMAG in 2021.

Blenheim Gallery is very pleased to announce the judges for 2023 Blenheim Gallery Shapes in Spaces Sculpture Prize 2023.  Ashley Bird, Senior Curator of Art and Design at QVMAG Launceston and Rebecca Birrell artist and Principal Designer at Birrelli art + design + architecture, have very kindly offered to jointly judge these major sculpture Awards for 2023.

The prizes will be announced on Saturday 25 November at 2pm simultaneously with the opening of the exhibition of sculptural works at Blenheim Gallery.

The winning entry is retained by Blenheim Gallery and Garden for display into the future as part of the Sculptural Walk, as Blenheim Gallery has extensive landscaping for exterior sculpture locations. It provides the visitor with the opportunity to view works with other practising sculptors.

The site is wrapped by extensive Western Tiers views to the south as a backdrop. An unsurpassed magical vista that has inspired many artists since settlement.

These artists include Philip Wolfhagen, Michael McWilliams, David Chapman and Tom Roberts. Sculptors in the region.

A smaller sculpture award is also available as well.
