TENSILE - “Explorations in metal and form”
We are two Tasmanian sculptors whose practice centres on metal—an endlessly adaptable material that allows us to explore strength, movement, and transformation. We approach the workshop as both studio and laboratory, where ideas emerge through experimentation, curiosity, and the physical process of making.
Our work combines craftsmanship with playfulness, often developing through discovery rather than predetermined outcomes. We are drawn to the mechanics of objects, the history carried by reclaimed materials, and the dialogue between industrial processes and imaginative forms. Steel, bronze, and found components become the raw language through which we construct new narratives and possibilities.
From large-scale public commissions to functional and intimate sculptural works, we aim to uncover and share with viewers the unexpected beauty of metal.
