Wayne Hudson Sculptures


Wayne has exhibited at Blenheim Gallery in September 2023 with Chee Yong and Gene McLaren.

Wayne lives in Launceston and through his life time his artistic pursuit has bee extensive both academically and and through exhibiting with works in many major collections as you will see below. His technique is methodical and the works are immaculately presented with a unique style of his own personal genre which adds to the experience of enjoying each individual work.

In 2000 Hudson was awarded the Rosamond McCulloch Studio in Paris, from the University of Tasmania and supported by the Australia Council. 

In 1993 and 1997 Hudson undertook 2 x 3 month internships at the prestigious Paley Studios, Rochester,New York, USA.  Also in 1993 he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth 11, Art Council of New Zealand Artist in

Residence in association with Unitec, Auckland, New Zealand. 

Hudson has collections at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery,Launceston, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart, Tasmania, David Duncans private sculpture park, Lake Riley, Queenstown, New Zealand and MONA Collection, (Museum of Old and New Art), Hobart, Tasmania.

Hudson has completed 28 Public Art Commissions in Tasmania and South Australia.  In 2002 he was appointed Head of Sculpture at the School of Visual and Performing Arts, University of Tasmania, Launceston.

In 2012 he retired from teaching and has been working within his practice in his studio in Launceston, Tasmania.
