‘ Descending yellow tails’ Lucy McEachern’s Major Bronze commission

Celebrated Western District of Victoria sculptor Lucy McEachern, whose bronze Australian birds have featured in several exhibitions at Blenheim Gallery, is completing a significant new public commission for the Warrnambool Botanic Gardens.

The new bronze work, ‘Descending Yellow Tails’, will be unveiled on 9 April 2027. The commission brings McEachern’s distinctive celebration of Australian birdlife into the garden setting, creating an enduring meeting point between sculpture, nature and place.

Lucy is looking forward to seeing this major work in its final setting and sharing the completed installation with the Warrnambool community and visitors to the gardens.
