Kate Bergin - new works Blenheim Gallery October

We are very excited to have a new series of paintings by Kate Bergin for her “Travelling Surrealist” exhibition here at Blenheim Gallery in October. Kate will be in Tasmania for the show.

New paintings have been underway for sometime and a recent highlight has been a painting called “The Anxious Landscape, (Featuring Gainsborough’s, “Wooded Landscape with Pond”, c 1750-55)” which will be heading to Tasmania as part of my exhibition, “The Travelling Surrealist” at Blenheim Gallery & Garden in Longford.

“This painting is definitely taking on a moody, romantic atmosphere that is reflective of my past visits to Tasmania.

I also love that that this small painting reflects so much of my travels around Australia. The tortoise was photographed at Taronga Zoo in Sydney. The owl was photographed at Toowoomba, Queensland, the white rabbit from a petting zoo in Albany, WA & the phone was found many years ago at Tyabb in Victoria. The attentive brown rabbit lives with us here in Adelaide. Sometimes it’s the small paintings that bring together the larger experience.
I’m looking forward to being on the island again & exploring its unique landscape which will no doubt inspire future paintings too…” says KX

Our opening is on Sat 10 October, 2026 at 2pm..
