Lucy McEachern “The Friends of Warrnambool Botanical Gardens news!

Very exciting NEWS for Lucy McEachern who presently in the UK and exhibiting at Blenheim Gallery this November!

We are thrilled to announce that ‘The Friends of the Warrnambool Botanical gardens’ and Heritage Victoria have commissioned Lucy McEachern to create a sculpture of “5 Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos”, who land in the Warrnambool Botanical Gardens, These gardens were designed by William Guilfoyle in 1877 the same designer as the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne.

A heritage ‘listed’ garden, makes it even more special!! A year and a half in the making (has been hush hush) Lucy has posted several photos of a very basic maquette which we have shared on the Blenheim Gallery and Garden facebook page..

The piece will be 2 metres in height ( life sized birds) and hoping to have it finished by the middle of next year.

Lucy is honoured to have been chosen and thrilled that it is for her favourite Australian bird!! Lucy’s biggest commission to date- Hazzzaaahhh !!
