First day of winter 2025 with the sculptures dappled in sunlight at Blenheim Gallery in the Sculpture Garden and there is plenty of news for our sculptors too.
Matt Sloane is in Turkey as the invited Australian representative at Valuable scraps conference and workshop making sculpture. Representatives from around the world upgrading discarded metal machinery for sculptural pieces for Turkey.
Gene Mclaren is in the process of his large scale sculpture " Union" commission, for the new ambulance centre on the Brooker highway Hobart. Gene is working with the highly skilled fabricator Glasgow Engineering in Launceston.
Anita Denholm has completed her major 10 ton stone commission "Face" for Freycinet Resort which was a two-year project. A superb private commission.
David Hamilton earlier in the year completed his major sculpture "Welcome Gesture" for the entrance to Burnie. Have a look when up that way!
The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery are working on a retrospective exhibition for David in September this year.
