Tasmania Makes Exhibition
Tasmania Makes 25
The DesignCentre states “We were delighted to welcome over 150 guests at our recent event to farewell Exhibition One and launch Exhibition Two of the 2025 Tasmania Makes program, side-by-side in our galleries for one day only. Guests included specifiers and buyers from the architectural and interior design community, the general public and designer-makers from across the island, and we heard about the impact of the program from our Artistic Director, industry partners and the makers themselves.
We were especially thrilled to see four design works from Exhibition Two acquired into the significant State Collection held at Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), purchased with funds from the TMAG Foundation. The acquisitions will enhance TMAG's collection through this investment in Tasmania's rich community of contemporary craftspeople and designers, acknowledging the contribution they make to Tasmania's cultural heritage, and we thank TMAG for this vision”.
Exhibition Two will run until 21 September and features work by:
Craig Ashton | Travis Bell | Geoff Farquhar-Still | Benjamin Grieve-Johnson | Elliot Hall | Sharon O'Donnell and Stuart Williams.
A huge congratulations to the nine participants from Exhibition One whose work was purchased, commissioned, published, or shortlisted for upcoming national prizes and exhibitions—including the 2025 NGV Rigg Design Prize (35 Under 35) and the Clarence Prize 2025. All testament to your skill and vision.
A lovely article about Andrea Barker's work, written by Dr Catherine Payne in the most recent Garland Magazine edition: ANDREA BARKER.
Congratulations to Geoff Farquhar-Still and Craig Ashton who are exhibiting at Blenheim Gallery as well in the future.
