Welcome Brooke van Ruiswyk
Blenheim Gallery is very pleased to announce that Brooke van Ruiswyk will be exhibiting at Blenheim Gallery early next year in our annual January Summer Show with some new paintings.
She is also scheduled for a one-person exhibition later in 2026 with her Tasmanian often windswept landscapes.
Having studied art at Utas and completing with honours she has gone on to forge a successful artistic career with a couple of exhibitions interstate and has been a finalist in the Glover Prize three times.
Brooke van Ruiswyk, is an emerging force in the art world in Tasmania has garnered recognition for her profound exploration of the Tasmanian landscape, rooted in her family’s farming heritage spanning generations. Her delicate yet powerful paintings, often crafted meticulously with oil on canvas, beckon viewers to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of textures and hues that define her evocative works.
Many of her paintings are taken from her memories of the North-West coast and capture the mood of a wintry day.
Brooke is quoted as saying she is inspired by the loneliness that hovers in like the brooding clouds above provides space and calm for her to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding Tasmanian landscape, and to seek comfort in its familiarity and simplicity.
