David Marsden
David Marsden following study in art both in Hobart at the University of Tasmania and National Gallery School in Melbourne David then became an artist and educationalist.
During David’s artistic pursuit he has not only painted but included found materials to achieve a dynamic effect. David is an abstract expressionist at heart, he loves colour and vibrancy in his work with an active picture plane. On occasions, a realistic or known object or image is embedded into the subject matter to enhance the energy overall.
David Marsden is also a major printmaker and has been featured in the highly respected Alexander “Sasha” Grishin AM FAHA publication, Australian Printmaking in the 1990s: Artist printmakers 1990-1995. Sydney published by Craftsman House, 1997.
