Journey to Blenheim Gallery

Making the Most of Your Visit

When you plan a trip to Blenheim Gallery, located between Longford and Cressy townships in Northern Tasmania, it's worth turning your outing into a memorable day. This region of Northern Tasmania is known for its horticultural berry crops as well as Tasmania’s many agricultural grain crops, canola, peas, sheep, cattle and a range of specialised diversified high yielding crops.

Take the opportunity to stop for coffee and cake at Ernest & Ernesto on Wellington Street in Longford. This charming little coffee shop is highly regarded, but if you prefer something different, Storm & India Bellamy next door offers an excellent selection of organic teas and lotions and is run by family members of the original Bellamy organics .

Discovering Longford’s Heritage

The streetscape of Longford is dotted with heritage buildings, and a leisurely walk along Wellington Street is both relaxing and enjoyable. For those interested in history, the area is also home to open-to-the-public heritage properties such as Woolmers Estate and Brickendon Farm Village, both offering a glimpse into the region’s past.

Approaching from the South

If you are arriving at Blenheim Gallery from the southern direction—whether from Bothwell over the mountain or via the Midlands Highway—you have the option to travel along scenic rural roads. These can be accessed either from the turn-off at the heritage town of Ross or from Campbell Town, leading you towards Cressy township.

There are many photo opportunities of the Great Western Tiers mountain range and the beauty of the natural landscape.

Enjoying Cressy

While in Cressy, be sure to stop by the Rustic Bakery, regarded as the hub of the township. Take some time to enjoy one of their special cakes, slices, or a fresh cup of coffee, rounding out your visit to the area.

On arrival at Blenheim Gallery enjoy a personal art experience with many Tasmanian contemporary artists work on display both in the gallery and the Sculpture Garden. There is a current stockroom to view as well with examples of artists that the gallery represent with works in painting, print, sculpture and mixed media.
